Turning Difficult Days Into Brighter Ones, Once Smile at a Time
At Little Smiles we bring comfort, joy, and the magic of play to children when they need it the most. Our impact goes beyond donations. We create meaningful moments, lasting memories, and real support for children and their families navigating hospitalization & life beyond the diagnosis.
1.
Smiles Within
Smiles Within brings meaningful, uplifting experiences and donations directly into hospital settings. This can help children feel like kids, not just patients. We aim to deliver moments of joy and happiness to children & their families during hospitalization and/or treatment.
Core Programs
2.
Smiles Beyond
Smiles Beyond supports pediatric survivors as they navigate life after treatment. Focusing on confidence, identity, and the emotional journey that continues beyond diagnosis. It is important to provide tools for emotional expression and help children feel more understood during recovery.
Our Goal
Through two core programs, Smiles Within and Smiles Beyond, we provide joy-based, emotionally supportive experiences that help children feel comforted during hospital stays and confident as they move forward beyond their diagnosis. While medical institutions provide life-saving care, there is a consistent gap in emotional and experiential support. By focusing on both immediate and long-term emotional well-being, One Smile at a Time fills a critical gap in pediatric care. Ensuring that no child feels alone at any stage of their journey.
1.
In-Kind Donations
We provide thoughtfully curated donations to elementary-aged children who are hospitalized. In doing so, Little Smiles helps transform unfamiliar spaces into something a little more comforting, creative, and fun.
Smiles Within:
2.
Individual Patient Experiences
From magical princess makeovers to unforgettable theme park visits, we create one-of-a-kind experiences that give kids something to look forward to. Our goal is to create moments of distraction where patients can simply be kids again.
3.
Financial Support
When families need it most, we step in to help ease the burden. Little Smiles offers financial assistance so families can focus on what truly matters: their child’s well-being.
Objectives
At Little Smiles, we create smiles that extend far beyond hospital walls. We may not be able to change a diagnosis, but we can change how a child feels in the midst of it. By creating moments of joy, comfort, and positivity during some of life’s most difficult days, Little Smiles aims to give children the chance to simply be kids and foster unforgettable memories.
1.
Creative Experiences
Little Smiles values creativity & art as healing techniques for survivors. We partner with professionals to provide special experiences to kids as they cope with life after treatment and/or surgery.
Smiles Beyond:
2.
Survivorship Events
Community-based events for pediatric survivors of critical illnesses. We work closely with local businesses to put on these events for children and their families to come together and celebrate survivorship milestones & achievements.
3.
Advocacy
Little Smiles promotes advocacy for patient’s emotional well-being post treatment and/or surgery. Our organization dedicates time to advocate for more awareness and recognition on this topic.
Objectives
Smiles Beyond empowers critical illness survivors to move forward with confidence by providing support for the emotional challenges of survivorship. We encourage personal growth and create opportunities to connect with others who understand their journey. Little Smiles leaves space for connection, understanding, and shared healing beyond the diagnosis and after treatment.
